Eduardo L. David

Chairman Emeritus

Mr. Eduardo L. David is Chairman Emeritus of Gravitas Prime, Inc. He chairs the Audit Committee of the Ateneo de Manila University, Sinag Energy Philippines, Inc. and is a Board Adviser to Philab Holdings, Inc. (PSE:DNA). He is a Fellow for the Institute of Corporate Directors

He has 23 years experience in private equity, 6 years as General Partner of Hupomone Capital Partners Singapore Pte Ltd., a fund manager investing in mostly China and China-centric emerging growth companies; and 17 years as Administrative Managing Director at Palo Alto, CA, Regional Managing Director, ASEAN and Country Manager, Philippines for H&Q Asia Pacific Limited, a first tier private equity and venture capital firm. He was a director of mostly private companies in the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, India, and the United States. He also worked as C level executive for the Philippine American Life Assurance Company (CIO), First Philippine Holdings Corporation (CFO) and MCCI Corporation.

He was a Trustee for the Ateneo de Manila University and the Asian Institute of Management, Director of the Philippine Stock Exchange, the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines.

Mr. David received his MBM with distinction from the Asian Institute of Management in 1972, and AB in Economics, honors program, from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Jose Paolo B. David

Chairman

Paolo B. David serves as Chairman of Gravitas Prime, a leading M&A and financial advisory firm and a collaborating partner of Andersen Global (www.andersen.com). He is also the Managing Partner of IS ASIA Group (Hong Kong) and IDEO (Manila), a digital impact agency working with multinational corporations and leading local conglomerates. IDEO is a Google Premier Partner, Meta Marketing Partner, and TikTok Partner.

Mr. David has held diverse leadership roles throughout his career. He served as an Investment Professional with Hambrecht & Quist Philippines, Managing Director of Math Coach, and Consultant for Signium International.

His automotive industry experience includes his tenure as Assistant Vice President at Ford Group Philippines, overseeing product and pricing strategies for Ford and Mazda, managing a portfolio of 12 vehicle lines. Additionally, he led Ford ASEAN’s Marketing and Sales initiatives, driving innovative product launches across the region. At Ford’s World Headquarters in Michigan, he contributed to Asia-Pacific business planning and product development, shaping the company’s future market strategies.

Mr. David earned his MBA with honors from Peking University, where he received the prestigious 2005 BiMBA Award and became a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society. He studied Chinese language at Peking University and completed his Bachelor of Arts at the Ateneo de Manila University.

 

Marie Therese G. Santos

President

Ms. Santos is President of Gravitas Prime.

Prior to joining Gravitas Prime, Ms. Santos was Vice President for Finance of MUSIC Semiconductors Corporation, a multinational electronics design company publicly listed in the Philippines. As CFO, she was in charge of all matters pertaining to finance for the parent company in the Philippines as well as for the offshore subsidiaries in the US and in the Netherlands. Ms. Santos was an Independent Director of MUSIC, and chair of its Audit Committee.

Ms. Santos has had consulting assignments in various corporations in the manufacturing and retail sector, specializing in systems and procedures in the Accounting and Finance functions. Ms. Santos also worked with a number of concerns, including United Development Corporation, a holding company invested in diverse interests, where she was Group Comptroller. She began her career in finance with Private Development Corporation of the Philippines (PDCP) where she started as Project Analyst in the Project Management Group.

Ms. Santos sits as Independent Director of First Abacus Financial Holdings, Inc. and as Regular Director of Cordillera Savings Bank. She is also National Treasurer of Community Bible Study Philippines.

Ms. Santos completed her MBA, major in Finance, as well as her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines.

Joseph Y. de Leon

Joseph de Leon is a globally trusted expert in elevating the value multiples for businesses of all sizes.

For large enterprises, he is the Director of Venture Strategy at Gravitas Prime, managing sell-side M&A, capital raises, and buy-side advisory for private equity clients in Asia.

Prior to Gravitas, he played key strategic roles for FCB; as Strategic Planning Director of FCB Kuala Lumpur and Regional Strategy Consultant in ASEAN & China. His advertising clients have included Mondelez OREO, Nivea, Nautilus Fitness, Celcom Axiata, CIMB Bank, TM (Telekom Malaysia), and VW.

For startups, JDL is a founding member and lead investor of Manila Angel Investors Network (MAIN) where he concurrently serves as  Head of Screening and Mentoring. MAIN is the country’s largest active angel investor network, winner of Start-up Investor of the Year for the Philippines’ 2019 RiceBowl Awards and partnered with Investing In Women, an initiative of the Australian Government, to nurture more female founders and funders.

As a mentor for institutions such as Accelerating Asia, DOST,  the German Accelerator, HiFi, Impact Hub,  IIDF, Plug & Play, Start2 and the United Nations Development Program, Joseph has worked with winning start-ups from all over the world. He has covered Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada,  Indonesia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam.

Additionally, for the Swiss start-up fund, Seedstars SA, he has served as their Philippine Ambassador, Entrepreneur-in-Residence for their Sustainability Challenge and facilitated the organization of the Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ Start-up Challenge.

Mr. de Leon has a track record of being a pioneer. He was hand-picked as the Philippines’ first Amazon AWS Scout. Founder Institute recognizes him as one of their top global mentors and the first Filipino to complete their VC Lab program. He is the Philippines’ first and only ValueBuilder™ Advisor.

Joseph is a certified Six Sigma Blackbelt, and an MBA from Emory University. He’s also pursued further studies in Finance at UP Diliman, and has a BS Legal Management from Ateneo de Manila.

Felix K. Limcaoco, III

Felix Limcaoco is Chairman and CEO at the Lica Group, a diversified business group in the Philippines involved in real estate, hospitality, automotive, banking, and office solutions.

Mr. Limcaoco joined H&Q Philippines venture capital firm in 1990 as Senior Investment Manager, and until 2001 served as Senior Vice President and General Manager. A veteran of many private equity deals in Asia and the USA, he was responsible for H&Q’s investment in Headstrong Inc., one of the largest deals in the software development BPO sector at that time. He was an active resource speaker at various investment conferences in the region, and represented H&Q on the Boards of several US and Philippine companies, both public and private.

Prior to joining H&Q, Mr. Limcaoco was a Manager at Stanford University, CA (1988-1990). Prior to this, Mr. Limcaoco was a software developer at GTE Communication Systems in Phoenix, AZ, (1984-1986).

Mr. Limcaoco earned a BA in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley (1984), and an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University (1988). He is a member of UC Berkeley`s Honor Students Society.

Mr. Limcaoco was the founder of EO (formerly Young Entrepreneurs Organization) Philippines and member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization) Philippines.

Paulino B. Reyes

Equity Partner

Mr. Reyes' work experience is in the areas of banking, financing and investments. Aside from his responsibilities as Executive Director of Gravitas Prime, he currently serves as an Independent Director in the board of a finance company based in Metro Manila. He is currently a member of the Finance Committee and the Investment Sub-Committee of the Ateneo de Manila University.

In the early 80s, Mr. Reyes was appointed Country Manager for The First National Bank of Chicago Manila Offshore Branch. In First Chicago, he was involved in sovereign risk lending, structured trade finance, correspondent banking and debt/equity swaps. He was thereafter invited to join Planters Development Bank, the country's largest privately owned development bank, to set up and manage a leasing company in partnership with the Asian Development Bank, Korea Development Leasing Corp., and Korea Long Term Credit Bank. Upon his retirement from banking, Mr. Reyes consulted with family business groups, giving him operational exposure to consumer retailing and property development.

From 2008 to 2013, Mr. Reyes was an Independent Director of Planters Development Bank where he chaired the Risk Oversight Committee. He was likewise a member of the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees. During the same period, he was a member of the Investment Committee of the Aureos South East Asia Fund, a London-based private equity fund.

Mr. Reyes received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He completed his undergraduate studies with an AB Economics degree (Honors Program) from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Rafael V. de Guzman

Mr. de Guzman is Chairman and President of a family holding company on real estate acquisitions in the Philippines. He also manages a diversified portfolio of family investments in equities, mutual funds, properties and other ventures in the Philippines, China, Canada and the United States.

Prior to Gravitas Prime, Inc., Mr. de Guzman worked for 30 years with the Unilab Group (United Laboratories, Inc.) which has a presence in 9 countries and manufacturing facilities in 5, including a biotech factory in Shanghai, China. He was Senior Vice President and Senior Executive Officer, Office of the Chairman of the Board. Frequent trips to the US, Europe, Japan, China, India, Korea, Australia and ASEAN countries focused on product search, investments, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.

Major acquisitions included a leading pharmaceutical company in Indonesia, Bonifacio Global City (from the First Pacific Group via a 50-50 joint venture between the Ayala and Campos Groups), UFC Corporation (to consolidate the banana catsup lines and food condiments businesses under one dominant conglomerate) and joint ventures in the Philippines with a US-based company and a major distribution company based in Switzerland. He was also involved in stock brokerages, real estate subdivisions, golf course development, shopping centers, hospital construction and management, consumer goods and joint ventures in the Philippines with a US-based company and a major distribution company based in Switzerland. Rayfiel Victor M. de Guzman

Equity Partner

Mr. de Guzman is Vice President of a family holding company on real estate acquisitions in the Philippines. He co-manages a diversified portfolio of family investments in the Philippines, China, Canada and the Unites States.

Mr. de Guzman was Senior Manager and Executive Assistant to the Chief Finance Officer at ePLDT, Inc., the holding company for Internet and Communications Technology (ICT) investments of the PLDT Group. Mr. de Guzman was in-charge of Corporate Finance where he was responsible for raising debt and equity for ePLDT group companies, and has led due diligence teams for ePLDT's acquisitions. His other responsibilities included financial and operations review of the group's various subsidiaries.

He concurrently served as the Senior Business Manager of Cube Interactive, the mobile content development division of ePLDT. Cube Interactive produced mobile phone applications and content, including mobile games, operator logos and ring tones, interactive TV applications and online portals. Mr. de Guzman was involved in strategy and product planning and was responsible for business development.

Prior to joining the PLDT Group, Mr. de Guzman worked with Far East Bank and Trust Company initially as a Credit Analyst with Corporate Banking, and eventually as a Senior Investment Analyst with the bank's trust division.

Mr. de Guzman received his Master in Business Management, with distinction, from the Asian Institute of Management and his Bachelor of Science in Management from Ateneo de Manila University.

Francis G. Horn

Adviser

Mr. Horn is an Adviser for Gravitas Prime.

In the past, he was the Gravitas Team Leader for a large retail food company project and a Director in a retail nutritional marketing company.

Mr. Horn`s prior experience includes a stint as director of corporate finance in a local investment house, Senior Vice President in H&Q Philippines, Inc. helping to raise capital for H&Q First Philippine Venture Fund, Executive Vice President in Computer Software and Services Inc. setting up office in Hong Kong and Taipei for marketing of systems software products. He also held various executive and management positions in companies like Exxon Chemical Corp., Shoe Mart, Inc, Citicorp Investment Philippines and Citibank, N.A.

Mr Horn has an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the De La Salle College.

Patrick Co Rodriguez

Patrick Co Rodriguez is a serial entrepreneur with a social heart. His ventures have placed emphasis and focus on alleviating some of the country's many social problems. He established Livingspace Development to provide trendy, stylish but affordable homes for the middle class population in the city. To help curb illegal logging and deforestation, Patrick established Eight Dragon Metal Co. to educate and supply dealers, builders and contractors with sustainable, recycled building material alternatives that completely eliminates wood reliance on home building. These efforts resulted in 1000% increase in customer base and 10,000% increase in annual revenues within 3 years.

He is Chairman and Co-founder of First Asia Labor Service Cooperative, a for-profit social enterprise that aims to provide under-educated people with gainful employment and fair wages. He is a director and head of strategic planning at Istana Marketing & Development Corp., a development company. He is also a director and head of land acquisition at PKC Prime Properties Inc., a company that provides clean and affordable housing in prime locations to young urban professionals.

He is a Securities and Exchange Commission registered licensed Securities Dealer. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker, having placed 9th in the 2011 nationwide licensure examination administered by the Professional Regulatory Commission. He holds a BS in Economics from De La Salle University.
