Mr.
Reyes' work experience is in the areas of banking, financing and investments.
Aside from his responsibilities as Executive Director of Gravitas Prime, he
currently serves as an Independent Director in the board of a finance company
based in Metro Manila. He is currently a member of the Finance
Committee and the Investment Sub-Committee of the Ateneo de Manila
University.
In the early 80s, Mr. Reyes was appointed Country Manager for The First
National Bank of Chicago Manila Offshore Branch. In First Chicago, he was
involved in sovereign risk lending, structured trade finance, correspondent
banking and debt/equity swaps. He was thereafter invited to join Planters
Development Bank, the country's largest privately owned development bank, to
set up and manage a leasing company in partnership with the Asian Development
Bank, Korea Development Leasing Corp., and Korea Long Term Credit
Bank. Upon his retirement from banking, Mr. Reyes consulted with family
business groups, giving him operational exposure to consumer
retailing and property development.
From 2008 to 2013, Mr. Reyes was an Independent Director of Planters
Development Bank where he chaired the Risk Oversight Committee. He was
likewise a member of the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees. During the
same period, he was a member of the Investment Committee of the Aureos South
East Asia Fund, a London-based private equity fund.
Mr. Reyes received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He completed
his undergraduate studies with an AB Economics degree (Honors Program) from the
Ateneo de Manila University.
